The campaign was active from April to September of 2016, and was made up of 4 projects: (1) Designed By Ü, (2) 30,000 Free Cüps of Froyo, (3) Birthday Cheesecake Trio, and (4) 30th Birthday Party. Client: Yogen Früz Website: yogenfruz.com Date: 2016 Services: Creative Direction, Art Direction, Print, Web, Copyrighting, Event Organization Throwback DESIGN LEAD: GINA MENDOZA GRAPHIC DESIGN: PHOEBE TSE The main theme of the campaign is to throwback to the beginnings of Yogen Früz, a brand which many Canadians grew up with, and to give back to the Yogen Früz community. The iconic blue, yellow and pink of the original logo from the 80’s are incorporated into the Anniversary Wordmarks with the current icon of the pink Ü. The three colours can be seen as a visual theme throughout the campaign. Designed by Ü ART DIRECTION: PHOEBE TSE GRAPHIC DESIGN: VENN MOSTACHO CUP DESIGN WINNER: SIMON DUNFORD To kick off the 30th birthday celebration, a creative contest was held utilizing social media platforms as the main vehicle for marketing this project. The #YFDesignedByU contest was open to participants in Canada and United States (including Puerto Rico), and took place for one month. The founding members of the company along with the corporate office staff held a voting session to select the winning design, which was produced into a special limited edition cups made available to the customers at all North American stores starting September. The winner of the contest received $1000 scholarship, a feature on the company’s blog, and had their winning design produced into a limited edition cup design to be used across North America. Everyone who submitted an entry received gift cards. 30,000 Free Cüps of Froyo ART DIRECTION AND WEB DESIGN: PHOEBE TSE Following the Designed By Ü contest, a giveaway was held immediate. To enforce the 30 years of excellence, Yogen Früz gave away 30,000 free cups of froyo in North America. To maximize this opportunity to expand the Yogen Früz community, a website was designed for anyone within North America to send a free froyo to someone they love. In order too send a free froyo, the sender is asked to connect their Facebook account with this giveaway, which would help increase the chance of increasing the company’s followers, and to write a personalized message to the person they are sending the free froyo to. The information collected from the senders will help the marketing team to study their online followers and design future promotions more effectively. In addition to the 30000 free froyo cups, each sender is enter into a draw each week for a chance to win gift cards, VIP passed to the exclusive 30th Birthday Party and the grand prize of a free all-inclusive trip to Dominican Republic. Birthday Cheesecake Trio DESIGN LEAD: PHOEBE TSE GRAPHIC DESIGN: TATIANA ALZATE The Birthday Cheesecake Trio was inspired by the best selling flavour of all time, Strawberry Cheesecake. Additionally, Blueberrry, Mango and Cherry Cheesecake flavours were curated to represent the three colours, blue, yellow and pink, from the retro logo. An exclusive party was held in Toronto with guests made up of the founding members, vendors, partners, franchisees, staff, food bloggers and influencers, and winners from the Designed By Ü contest and 30,000 Free Cüps of Froyo giveaway.
